Chapter 1: The Metallic Menaces
"Where are you going?" Tyler's mother asked.
"To the post office," Tyler replied. Tyler headed out the door of his two story house. It was a beautiful Summer day, the sun shining brightly in the sky. It was Saturday. There was not a single cloud in the sky. Tyler smiled. He couldn't help but feel happy by the weather. The Toontown Post Office was located near the end of Loopy Lane in Toontown Central. Tyler headed in that direction, taking his time, enojying the weather. Tyler's last name was Gonzales. The Gonzaleses were a pretty famous family in Toontown. Pretty much everyone knew them, even the least popular kids. Tyler was handsome, too. He had brown eyes and a medium sized nose. He had dimples in his cheeks, especially when he smiled. He was popular enough, that no one ever judged him. He was a red cat, and always wore light clothes. Unlike most cool kids, he didn't like wearing fancy stuff. He was a pretty average person, unless you counted the fact he was rich, everyone adored him, and he was handosme, so the girls say. He reached the post office. Outside, he saw his best friend Gustavo. Gustavo Rodriguez wasn't much of a rich person. He was a royal blue cat and always had a goofy smile. His family had been been in Toontown Central, and lived there their whole lives, the rumors being ever since before the town was founded. Tyler walked toward his friend, who seemed to be tying to find the way in or something. The door wasn't hard to miss-- it was big and had a picture of a delivery truck in front. Tyler chuckled and went to say hi to his friend.
"Hi Gus," Tyler said. He called Gustavo Gus for short.
"Hey, wassup Ty?" Gus replied. Gus called Tyler Ty for short.
Nothing much, I came to get a package," Tyler replied.
"Really? I just came here because I have nothing else to do," Gustavo said.
"Great, let's go in together," Tyler said, pointing to the door. Gustavo and Tyler walked into the post office. The post office was huge. There were lots of drop off slots in the far corner. In front of the door were the front desks, where Toons could go and ask questions, drop off a package, etc. Tyler walked over to one the windows in front of the desks.
"May I help you?" A tall red dog Toon behind the window asked. He was wearing a yellow shirt with green shorts. He had a blue name tag on his yellow shirt. It read BERT.
"Yes, I was wondering if a package for Tyler Gonzales has arrived?" Tyler asked Bert.
"Let me check," Bert said. He disappeared into a back room, and returned a minute later, carrying a big package.
"Yes, here you go," Bert handed Tyler the package.
"Thanks. How much will it be?" Tyler said, taking the package. There was a small fee for picking up and dropping off packages.
"That would be 100 jellybeans," Bert replied. Jellybeans were the way Toons paid for stuff around Toontown. Tyler took out not 100 beans, but 200. He handed them to Bert.
"Here you. Keep the change," Tyler said, noting the surprised look on Bert's face.
"Thank you, sir, come again," Bert said, still shocked. Tyler and Gustavo left the post office.
"What's that package for?" Gustavo asked, curious as usual.
"It's--" Tyler started, but got interrupted by a scream. He turned around and saw a chubby girl dog Toon wearing a Tie Dyed shirt and a yellow and blue skirt, pointing up to the sky in horror. Tyler followed her gaze and gasped. There seemed to be a whole bunch of flying robots, heading for Toontown Central! Tyler dropped the package, but didn't seem to care. All he did was stare in shock as the robots got closer and closer. His hands were shaking, and he had sweat pouring down his face. Finally, some of the robots landed in Loopy Lane. Others seemed to go to other parts of the city. The robots on the streets landed and looked around. A robot with a brown suit and some kind of cheese for a head stepped forward.
"Take us to your leader! This city belongs to us! Resistance is futile. Those who don't obey shall be DESTROYED!" The robot said in a metallic voice.
