Chapter 4: Cog Trouble
"Excellent! Now first, we must go to the place where we have set up the Resistance HQ," Flippy said.
"Where's that at?" Maria asked.
"It's in Pajama Place in Donald's Dreamland. The building is called 'Talk in Your Sleep Voice Training,'" Flippy replied. Flippy, Tyler and Gustavo walked out of the Newspaper Office. Flippy headed off toward Toon Hall.
"You guys go. I'll catch up with you later," Flippy said as he ran away. Tyler Gustavo and Maria walked on to Dreamland, which was located behind Minnie's Melodyland. In Tener Terrace, a street in Melodyland, they found a horrifying sight: A Cog was beating an Innocent Toon! Maria gasped and sobbed. Tyler, on the other hand, took out a birthday Cake and threw it at the Cog. SPLAT, it hit the back in the back of the head. Tyler smiled, expecting an explosion, but instead the Cog stood up and looked at them.
"Very cowardly, attacking from behind," the Cog growled. The Cog was tall and strong looking, with numbers all over its body and the green suit it was wearing. It had a big head as well, also filled with numbers. Tyler looked over at the Toon being hurt by the Cog. It was a blue mouse. He was of medium height, had big round ears on his head, and was wearing a blue shirt with a picture of a soccer ball on it, and red shorts. The mouse was crying. He seemed to be eight or nine. Maybe younger. the cog with all the numbers walked over to Tyler. It picked him up off the ground. "Listen you, I'm feeling nice today. If you leave now and let me do what I was doing, I'll let you live," It growled at him, in a metallic voice. "Never! You don't scare me you big bucket of bolts!" Tyler yelled at it. It was definately the wrong thing to say. The Cog growled and threw him against a wall of a buidling. Tyler groaned and slid to the ground. He didn't get up. The Cog moved to him slowly, deliberately. Maria screamed. The mouse Toon stared, his eyes filled with tears. The Cog picked Tyler up and slid him onto his shoulder. "A fine prisoner for the Sellbot V.P." it muttered, "and it's probably worth alot of cash too." A propeller like thing appeared on its head. "NO!! Tyler!!!" Gustavo screamed. The Cog started to fly into the sky. The mouse Toon stood up, a frown on his face, looking at Tyler unconcious on the Cog's shoulder. He saved me, he thought. I can't let him be captured because of me. He ran toward Tyler's gag bag, which he had dropped. He took out a Birthday Cake and a Cream Pie. "Hey, bolt face!" he shouted at the Cog. "Huh?" the Cog growled, and turned around, the propeller disappearing into its head. "Catch!" the mouse said, throwing both the Cake and Pie at the Cog. The throws were well aimed-- it hit the Cog's chest, and it fell to the ground. Tyler fell from his shoulders onto the ground. The Cog stood up, dazed. It looked at the mouse Toon, and growled. But before it could move anywhere, it started to blow up! Bits and pieces of the Cog flew everywhere, leaving a big pile of bolts. A bucket of bolts. "Awesome!" Gustavo said, running over to the mouse. "That was amazing!" "Amazing. And brave," Maria said. She ran over to the mouse, and patted him on the back. "What?" he said. Tyler groaned. Everyone looked at him. he sat up and looked around. "What happened? Where's the Cog?" "He threw you against the wall. Then he picked you up and put you over your shoulder. He was taking you to some Sellbot V.P or something. That mouse Toon saved your life with some gags. He blew the Cog up!" Maria said, pointing to the mouse Toon with pride The mouse blushed, his cheeks turned a dark red. Tyler looked at the mouse in amazement. He shook his head and looked away. "What's wrong? Aren't you happy? HE SAVED YOUR LIFE!" Maria yelled at him accusingly. "Welly, yeah, but he did a foolsih move. I mean, he could have asked for help. The Toon Council, Flippy, perhaps," Tyler said. Maria frowned at him. "But you the same thing. You just charged in and attacked," she said. "Well, yes, but I was just defending another Toon," Tyler replied. "I was too," the mouse said quietly. Tyler looked at him. "I was saving you because I felt it was my fault you got captured. I'm sorry," he said, tears forming on his face. Tyler didn't reply. "It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong," Maria said soothingly. The mouse calmed down. He sniffed. "Yeah, sorry, I just felt that you shouldn't have risked your life for me, that's all," tyler said, standing up. He stuck out his hand. "Thanks for saving me," he said. The mouse smiled and shook his hand. "No problem," he said. "Listen, we were on our way to the Toon Resistance HQ. Would you like to come?" Maria asked the mouse. "I don't know... I mean, I don't think I'm 'old' enough," he replied. Tyler, Gustavo, and Maria looked at one another. He had a point there. "It's okay, you can at least come to keep Tyler from getting captured again," Maria said, grinning. Tyler frowned and Gustavo laughed. "Sure okay," the mouse said, smiling. They started off towards Donald's Dreamland again. "By the way, what's your name?" Maria asked. The mouse Toon looked at her. "Isaac," he replied.
